For over 40 years, the Community College of Beaver County has proudly upheld its mission to provide accessible, affordable, high quality education and training to the citizens of Beaver County and surrounding areas. Conveniently located in Center Township, PA, CCBC offers more than 40 programs of study, including aviation, business, computer forensics, culinary arts, criminal justice, digital media design, liberal arts, and nursing. CCBC also offers a wide array of non-credit enrichment courses and customized job training.
Achieving the Dream Goals
CCBC will pilot the use of supplemental instruction and learning communities in developmental and gatekeeper courses. CCBC has set the following goals:
- After two years, the percentage of students who complete developmental courses with a “C” or better will increase by 5 percent. After four years, the percentage will increase by 15 percent.
- The percentage of students who complete a developmental math course with a “C” or better within their first year will increase by 5 percent. After four years, the percentage will increase by 15 percent.
- After two years, the pass rate for students in gatekeeper courses will increase by 3 percent. After four years, the percentage will increase by 10 percent.
- After four years, the retention rate from semester to semester will increase by 5 percent and completion rates will increase by 2 percent.
