Achieving the Dream Goals
Prairie View A&M University’s goal as a participant in Achieving the Dream is to provide enhanced educational opportunities for student groups at the University that traditionally have been unprepared and underserved or who face significant barriers to academic success. The University has established the following priorities:
- Increase the retention rate of conditionally admitted students
- Increase the percentage of students who successfully complete developmental education courses
- Increase the percentage of students who complete a designated college core course with a grade of “C” or better
- Increase the percentage of students who complete a developmental education sequence and then pass the first college level class taken in the area of deficiency
The University will support these goals by implementing learning communities for both conditional and developmental education students, as well as restructuring the developmental sequences and classes.
