Annual College Progress Instructions

All active Achieving the Dream Institutions must complete the Annual College Progress process, which comprises several components to guide reflection. The requirements vary depending on your institution's year of entry into Achieving the Dream:

Information Sessions

Achieving the Dream staff held webinars walking through the Annual College Progress for Year 1 institutions on the Implementation Plan, and institutions in Year 2 and beyond on the Annual Reflection Leader College Initial Application, and Leader College Recertification Application. You can access recordings of the 2014 Implementation Plan Webinar and the 2014 Annual Reflection Webinar (includes Leader College Application information -- both initial and recertification) on the Achieving the Dream YouTube channel.

Principles Assessment Survey for 2013 Cohort

To facilitate a reflection of your institutional progress, Achieving the Dream has created a Principles Assessment Survey to solicit stakeholder feedback and group reflection as well as discussion.

We recommend that your institution solicit feedback via this survey to a representative group of stakeholders (faculty, staff, students, etc.) who have been involved in your student success work, as well as your Core Team and Data Team. The Principles Assessment Survey should be completed by sharing this link (http://adobe.ly/1iyBL4J). Please have all stakeholders to submit their survey by April 2, 2014. Please note that individual survey responses will be anonymous to both the institution and Achieving the Dream. Even individual survey responses will be identifiable only by an institution's IPEDS Unit ID.

Achieving the Dream will send you a summary of your institution's feedback by April 11, 2014 to be used in completing your Implementation Plan.

Implementation Plan

All Achieving the Dream Institutions in the 2013 Cohort are required to submit a draft and final Implementation Plan Narrative (including a work plan) at the end of their planning year.

These Implementation Plan Instructions provide a framework for organizing qualitative and quantitative data and creating a four-year implementation plan. While colleges commit to three years of implementation, we believe all colleges will need at least four years to effectively implement policy changes and new practices.

Principles Assessment Survey for Year 2 and Beyond (2012 Cohort and Earlier)

To facilitate a reflection of your institutional progress, Achieving the Dream has created a Principles Assessment Survey, which should be used to solicit stakeholder feedback and group reflection as well as discussion. We recommend that your institution solicit feedback via this survey to a representative group of stakeholders (faculty, staff, students, etc.) who have been involved in your student success work.

The Principles Assessment Survey should be completed by administering the online survey by sharing this link (http://adobe.ly/1b9S6gt). Please have all stakeholders submit their survey by April 10, 2014. Achieving the Dream will collect the results for your institution and send an aggregated response summary to your Core Team Leader by April 23, 2014. Please note that individual survey responses will be anonymous to both the institution and Achieving the Dream. Even individual survey responses will be identifiable only by an institution's IPEDS Unit ID.

Once you have completed the survey and received the aggregated responses, Achieving the Dream suggests that your institution engage a representative group of stakeholders to review and discuss the institution's student success and equity work, the results of the Principles Assessment Survey, and your outcomes data for the five Achieving the Dream student success measures. This discussion will inform your responses in the Annual Reflection Narrative.

Annual Reflection Narrative

The narrative consists of a series of questions designed to facilitate discussion and reflection on your intuition's student success work. Please download the document labeled "Annual Reflection Narrative Instructions and Template" listed at the bottom of this page, and complete your responses directly in the document. To submit the Annual Reflection Narrative, please upload the completed template as one document to the Submission Site (link sent to Core Team Leaders on April 4).

Note that the period covered by this Annual Reflection is May 2013-April 2014. Please reflect on activities during this time period throughout this reflection.
