Events
Achieving the Dream hosts several learning events throughout the year to accelerate student success nationwide. The events convene influential policy-makers, thought-leaders, and practitioners; unveil cutting-edge research; and create opportunities for deeper learning and sharper practices.
- D.R.E.A.M. (formerly the Strategy Institute)
D.R.E.A.M. (Data.Reform.Equity.Achievement.Movement.) is Achieving the Dream's Annual Meeting on Student Success. This is the largest Achieving the Dream event, convening more than 1,000 influential policy-makers, thought-leaders, and practitioners, who are dedicated to accelerating student success nationwide. The Annual Meeting provides attendees the opportunity to deepen understanding of policies and practices for increasing student success; bolster capacity for data analysis, program evaluation, and data-informed decision-making; and continue to build and sharpen the community of learners in Achieving the Dream. The event is coordinated in partnership with AACC and MDC, and happens annually in February.
- The Achieving the Dream and Developmental Education Initiative State Policy Meeting
The State Policy Meeting is a powerful biannual convening that features the leaders from the 15 Achieving the Dream State Policy Teams. These influential policy-makers and administrators are dedicated to increasing student success through strategic policy changes, such as removing policy barriers, establishing incentive and rewards, and spurring and growing effective practice and policy. Attendees have the opportunity to work with higher education thought-leaders and make connections with other national completion efforts. This meeting, hosted in partnership with JFF, happens in February and in July.
- The Achieving the Dream Kickoff Institute
Every year, Achieving the Dream selects 20-30 community colleges into the Achieving the Dream Network. The Kickoff is Achieving the Dream's annual event to orient these new cohort of colleges to Achieving the Dream. Throughout the week, this cohort is introduced to investors, partners, coaches, data facilitators, and consultants; oriented to their responsibilities in Achieving the Dream; and begin the work to build a learning community, analyze the data, identifying inequities, address critical tasks, and provide pertinent information and resources.
