Individual Career Plan (ICP) with Clear Start and Stop Points

PCCUA will implement a clear career and academic pathway with identifiable entry and exit points.

a) All students entering PCCUA complete an Individual Career Plan (ICP) which serves as a clear and understandable map for advancing through a specific certificate or degree program.
Each student is assigned a Student Advisory Team composed of advisors, coaches, and others. This action has enabled the College to expand learning opportunities facilitated for students suing  financial  and career coaches.

b) Placement is part of  the entry in the acadmic pathway. PCCUA has mandatory testing and placement. Prior to COMPASS testing, all students are provided with test preparation to increase the likelihood of appropriate course placement. Students register before class begins, but once they are registered and working with the advisor, an ICP will be developed. This year the College is piloting ACCUPLACER. During the Summer and Fall of 2016 all students enrolled in Reading I & II, Basic Writing I & II and Composition I, and Fundamental Math, Elementaty Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Technical Math, and College Algebra will take the ACCUPLACER subtest. This wil allow PCCUA to benchmark scores identifying ranges which are  apporpriate for placement of students in redaing, amth, and writing. The College will coninue to use COMPASS until the Spring of 2017.
