PRESSing for Completion through Faculty and Staff Engagement (Spotlight)

In summer 2012 15 Achieving the Dream Leader Colleges received Walmart PRESS (Persistence, Retention, and Student Success) for Completion grants from Achieving the Dream designed to tackle one of the toughest, most common community college reform challenges: engaging full-time and adjunct faculty in student success efforts and eliminating the disconnections between academic departments and student services that limit vital collaboration. In this spotlight session, attendees will hear from PRESS for Completion colleges and Technical Assistants about how they are working to “re-think” the role of faculty and staff in the larger student success reform movement through broad and substantive faculty and staff engagement strategies, innovative engagement techniques, and courageous conversations.
