Search for Vice President of Finance and Operations

In an effort to build on our decade long success as the national leader in championing evidence-based institutional improvement and to support the implementation of our new strategic plan to 2019, Achieving the Dream, Inc. (ATD) is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Operations. The vice president reports to the President/CEO, supports the leadership of the Finance/Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and serves as an integral member of the senior leadership team. The Vice President will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters as well as providing day-to-day on-site leadership of the effective operations of the organization. This leader is critical to the success of ATD as we are moving from a start-up non-profit into a more mature organization that must be ready to take on the next generation of student success work that is so important for our nation’s community colleges. I am pleased that ATD’s “founding” Chief Financial Officer Mark Motamen will be working closely with me in the transition. Mark’s role at ATD will also transition upon the hiring of the new vice president.

To achieve our goals we will need a leader in the area of administration and finance with a CPA or CPM preferred and with a strong understanding of non-profit organizations and the national higher education landscape. Because the next Vice President will impact the success of ATD for years to come, we will conduct a broad and comprehensive search, seeking a strong, highly qualified and diverse pool of candidates, locally, regionally and nationally. As such, I am also pleased to announce that the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) will serve as our partners in this important search process.
