November Conference Programs Highlight ATD Expertise

November was a busy month for the ATD team sharing their expertise with leaders in higher education and sold out audiences across the country. ATD President and CEO Dr. Karen A. Stout recently shared her analysis of trends in community college student success and education philanthropy at the sold out Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) conference. Among other observations, Dr. Stout underscored some of the challenges facing higher education, including a 17 percent decline in state funding to community colleges since 2008, enrollment declines and the ripple effect of state cuts on local funding. Read the other trends she identified here. To learn more about how ATD is working with its Network colleges to address these challenges, including helping community colleges to understand their students’ lived experiences; leverage data to improve student ROI; and, include faculty in the success agenda download her full presentation. Also in November, ATD Director Dr. Mei-Yen Ireland led a Student Success Leadership Institute workshop on integrated advising and student support for the 23 Ohio community colleges.
