It took most of them more than five visits to campus to complete their initial registration.All of the students, who ranged in age from 20 to mid-50s, persevered because of their relationship with another person.

Students will represent Maryland as they tweet live from the nation's most comprehensive non-governmental reform movement for student success in higher education, Achieving the Dream’s 2012 Annual Meeting on Student Success, February 28–March 2 in Dallas, TX. The group will join influential policy-makers, thought-leaders, and practitioners from more than 160 institutions across 30 states. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime for our students,” said Tyjaun Lee, vice president for student services at PGCC. “We are sending four shining examples of success and are confident they will share our story of transforming the lives of students here in Maryland,” she added.

Levi Miller kept it simple.It turns out that was a smart move. Miller, 21, recently won the national "Achieving the Dream" T-shirt design competition.Since the Lake Elmo resident and Century College student won the contest he will receive $1,000 as well as have 1,000 meals donated to the charity of his choice. Plus, 1,000 of his T-shirts will be distributed at the national Achieving the Dream annual meeting in Dallas at the end of the month...
