Connie Green

Connie Green is the President Emeritus of Tillamook Bay Community College. She retired from there in May 2017.  Dr. Green is a Coach for Achieving the Dream and consults with two Tribal Colleges in Project Success. She also provides consulting and facilitation services to organizations in Oregon.

Prior to her role with Achieving the Dream, Dr. Green served as president of Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) in Tillamook Oregon for seven years.  Prior to that time, she he served as Deputy Commissioner of Oregon Community colleges in 2005.

She has also held multiple leadership positions at Chemeketa Community College over a span of 29 years. During those years she had multiple roles that included faculty member, advisor, Financial Aid Director, Dean of Students, Dean of Regional partnerships and Chief Information Officer.  She was on the colleges executive team for 25 years. 

Throughout her career, she has dedicated her skills in organizational development, planning, and problem-solving expertise towards student success. In that context, students and community college professionals have recognized her as a significant influence in furthering the mission of community colleges and student success.

Dr. Green iss one of the founding members of the Oregon Student Success Conference in 1985; Thirty-five years later, the organization continues to advance the values of student success.  Dr. Green has served on numerous boards that involve the fields of education, economic development, business and community development.  Her leadership has been recognized by her peers in community colleges, workforce and community leadership. 

Dr. Green was President of Willis Green & Associates for five years prior to assuming the presidency at TBCC.  Dr. Green continues to facilitate difficult conversations and assist in shared resolution and future visioning and planning in a variety of diverse contexts.  Her lifetime commitment to promoting hope, access, and achievement for all students has guided her life, career, and choice of time commitments since retiring.

Educational Background: Dr. Green holds a Ph.D. in Education, Policy and Planning from the University of Oregon; a M.S. in Personnel Services and Counseling from Miami University (Ohio); and a B.S. in Communications, Miami University (Ohio). She also was awarded Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa, Corban University, Salem, Oregon, 1993.
