Principal, Organizational Effectiveness Consultants
Bruce McComb is the Principal of Organizational Effectiveness Consultants, and is a Data Coach for Achieving the Dream. As a Data Coach, Mr. McComb consults 6 colleges in Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Washington.
McComb conducts workshops and consults on strategic focus, strategy execution, and the development and use of balanced scorecards and dashboards. He has been an adjunct faculty member and tutor in math and taught marketing research. His work with colleges has included development of institutional evaluation capability, serving as an external evaluator and developing and facilitating strategic planning processes as well as conducting technical program review, instructional effectiveness improvement, and conversion of transcripts to digital records projects.
Bruce was a co‐author of an article on "Strategic Reporting Tool: Balanced Scorecards in Higher Education", co‐author of an expert series white paper "Increasing Enrollment, Retention, and Student Success ‐ Best Practices for Information Delivery and Strategic Alignment" for Information Builders, Inc. and is a co‐author of chapters on Tools for Setting Strategy and Tools for Use in Strategy Execution in a forthcoming new IR Manual for the Association for Institutional Research.
During the past 19 years, Bruce has been involved in training, continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness. Prior to this, he held management positions in state government.
Educational Background: McComb holds a BS and MS from Michigan State University in Electrical Engineering specializing in the analysis and improvement of organizations and socio‐economic systems through the application of systems engineering principles. Bruce has completed numerous quality and continuous improvement training programs including six-sigma black belt training and was certified as a Quality Engineer by the American Society of Quality.
