Mia Gabrielle Ramos is the Assistant Director of Programs (New Colleges) for Achieving the Dream, Inc. In this role, Ramos is responsible for organizing the process of recruiting and retaining new Institutions, and communicating with and supporting those Achieving the Dream Institutions still early in the institutional change process. In addition, she manages the RFP, selection, and notification process, handles day-to-day questions from Participating Institutions, supports the learning events, and manages the annual reporting process.
Ramos has ample valuable and relevant experience that she brings to her role with Achieving the Dream. She has a background in coordinating as a legal assistant, managing a commercial business store, and as an assistant for the Onondaga County Bar Association Assigned Counsel Program.
Ramos has extensive experience in leadership, as she is a member of the Columbia University Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association where she founded the first chapter of the honor society at an Ivy League institution. She held the position of International Vice President of Division 1 for the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society of the Two-Year College. While there, she also served as the Southern District Vice President and Chapter Vice President. Ramos is also an integral part of a network of volunteer speakers for the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network Speakers Bureau.
Educational Background: Ramos holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Columbia University in New York; an Associate of Science Degree in Math and Science and an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Orange County Community College in New York.
