Rene Garcia, Ph.D.

Director of Enrollment Management, Miami Dade College 

Rene Garcia has been the Director of Enrollment Management at Miami Dade College  since 2001 with primary responsibility for coordinating the intuition’s recruitment and retention efforts.  As an Achieving the Dream Data Coach, Dr. Garcia consults with Lone Star College in Texas and two other institutions in Michigan: Mott Community College and Oakland Community College.

Prior to his role with Achieving the Dream, Dr. Garcia has acquired over 30 years of experience in test administration and development, research, grant writing, survey construction, and program evaluation. He is also professor of psychology and statistics and an Endowed Teaching Chair recipient. He has served as a consultant for a variety of organizations including Educational Testing Service, and The College Board and Aspira among others.

Educational Background: Garcia earned his bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. in psychology and education at the University of Miami.
