As an Achieving the Dream Coach, Wayne Giles consults with colleges in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Prior to his role with Achieving the Dream, Dr. Giles was Chancellor and CEO of Metropolitan Community College, a five-college system with approximately 43,000 annual student enrollment, in Kansas City, Missouri.  He also served as Interim President of Mesa Community College in Arizona, which is the largest college (27,000) of the ten Maricopa colleges. Dr. Giles also served as the Chancellor and CEO of Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri; the Vice Chancellor of Educational Services for Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri; and served as Interim President at Penn Valley Community College. Dr. Giles served as CEO of Penn Valley Community College, as well as Vice Chancellor, and Chaired the search/screening committee for selection of the new president.

Dr. Giles has been awarded numerous recognitions including Chief Executive Officer Award of the Central Region by the American Association of Community College Trustees; the College of Education Dean’s Award for Excellence in Community College Leadership from the University of Missouri in St. Louis; the Visionary Award by the Metropolitan Community College Foundation Board of Directors, as well as the MCC Diversity Award by the  MCC District-wide Diversity Committee.

Educational Background: Dr. Giles earned a Ph.D. in Administration of Higher Education, St. Louis University; a M.S. in Education, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville; and a B.S. in Education, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.
