Nashville State Community College is the comprehensive community college that serves the majority of the middle-Tennessee region. The college’s service region encompasses 7 counties (Davidson, Cheatham, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, and Stewart Counties), offers approximately 80 degree and technical certificate programs, and enrolls and approximately 8,900 undergraduate students. The college is among the most socioeconomically and racially/ethnically diverse in the state, as its communities stretch from the Nashville metropolitan area and suburbs to rural Humphreys County. In Fall 2017, approximately 45% of the student body were students of color and 57% of students attended part-time.
The mission of Nashville State Community College is “…to provide comprehensive educational programs and partnerships, exemplary services, an accessible, progressive learning environment, and responsible leadership to improve the quality of life for the community it serves…. Nashville State offers associate degrees and certificates that prepare students to think and perform well whether entering the workforce or transferring to a university upon graduation.”
