Data & Technology Insight Webinar Series: Effective Uses of Behavioral and Engagement Data - Practical Examples and Lessons from the Field

April 6, 2017

Webinar: 2:00pm ET / 11:00am PT

As more institutions consider the use of predictive analytics to inform their student success initiatives, senior leaders, particularly those in student affairs, are identifying more data sources to strengthen their models. For example, data from student identification cards and mobile applications could offer additional insight regarding students’ connection with the institution, which could ultimately influence students’ persistence and completion of a degree. This session will present findings from NASPA’s qualitative examination of institutions’ collection and use of engagement and behavioral data. The presenters will share examples of how institutions are using these data to develop interventions and monitor students’ progress. The session will also address issues related to data privacy and effective communication with students about the use of their information.
