Achieving the Dream: Year Up's Career Labs

June 15, 2017

WEBINAR: 1:00pm ET / 10:00am PT

With unemployment for the nation’s youth remaining at relatively high levels and private sector jobs remaining unfilled—youth employment rates have returned to pre-recession averages in just four states[1]—we need a more focused approach to connecting young adults in need of opportunity not only with education and training, but with a clear pathway to employment.

Achieving the Dream is excited to partner with Year Up to offer this unique webinar about a new offering from Year Up, a national program with a long track record of training low-income young adults to excel at professional roles.  In this webinar, participants will learn more about Year Up’s Career Labs, a modular version of their proven career readiness curriculum, and how these tools can be adapted and integrated into existing community college courses and career pathways.  Career Labs is packed full of engaging activities to help students practice key employability skills such as time management, verbal communication, taking initiative, and more.

If you are interested in helping your students communicate and collaborate more effectively, think critically and manage their time to increase their academic and professional success, you will want to learn more about Career Labs. You can also prepare for the webinar by reading the Career Labs one pager.
