Student parents face a multitude of obstacles to completion of their postsecondary and career goals. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic and resurgent racial tensions are intensifying the challenges these students face, particularly for student parents of color, student mothers, and low-income student parents.

This half-day summit will explore the experience of student parents pursuing postsecondary credentials and share practical strategies colleges can implement to better serve these students during the pandemic and beyond. Sessions will also take a deep look at equity through the lens of parenting students with emphasis on the intersection of race, gender, and socioeconomics. Speakers will share examples of the practical application of campus-based policy, practice, and programs to support equitable outcomes for student parents. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies and tips from dynamic speakers and engage with peers to delve into the nuance of reality for parenting students.
