Disciplinary Communities of Practice – Dec. 10 Session

December 10, 2021

12:00 p.m. ET

We invite you to participate in a new community of practice initiative beginning in October 2021. In partnerhips with the Association of Public Land-Grant Universities (APLU), Achieving the Dream will bring together faculty and instructional staff in the disciplines of writing, math, biology, and chemistry for a unique opportunity to collaborate with like-minded peers across institutions.

The communities will be designed to encourage professional development, mentorship, and support for innovation in instruction. We aim to provide a space for emergent discussion and knowledge, so that you will have the ability to determine your level of involvement and contribute to the direction of your group’s activities.

The final fall session will take place on Friday, December 10, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET.

We will also host a structured asynchronous platform where participants can continue discussions, share resources, and advance the field’s understanding of how to best implement digital learning in your subject area. Dedicated faculty leads in each of the four disciplines will facilitate discussion and activities in the synchronous and asynchronous environments. The communities will also be supported by the team that is leading this initiative from APLU, in collaboration with the Every Learner Everywhere Network and our partner organizations Online Learning Consortium and Achieving the Dream.
