Gateway to College

The College established an extensive dual credit program in partnership with Gateway to College that allows at-risk students from partner high schools to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and substantial college credit. In the first semester, students take classes in a learning community as the foundation for their matriculation into college-level coursework.
Progress on yearly goals and outcomes related to intervention:
• AY 2013-2014 - Program started. 21 students enrolled in the Fall 2013. 31 students enrolled in Spring 2014. 43 total Spring enrollment. 76% persistence rate from first semester to second semester.
• AY 2013-2014 – 13 partner schools in Fall 2013. 15 partner schools in Spring 2014. 3 additional partner schools pending for Fall 2014
Progress updates on objectives and strategies:
• AY 2013-2014- Gateway to College is using its project based learning/resource model to drive reading partnership discussions.
AY 2014-2015- 82 students have enrolled in the Gateway to College program thus far, and the program has graduated 32 of those students with an average GPA of 3.0. Additionally, TD Bank has generously offered a grant of $65,000 to continue to sustain the program.
