Progressive Advising Model: New Student Orientation and Advisement for Term 1

The Orientation Program strives to enhance student learning and success by promoting the intellectual, social, and personal development of students through programming, academic planning, and self-assessment activities. It facilitates the academic and social transitions of new students to the campus community by: providing programs and services which communicate academic expectations, introducing students to campus resources and available support services, and providing initial academic advising and registration. In order to strengthen early connections and provide the most relevant information, orientations are tailored to different student populations such as first-time in-, transfer students, athletes, and international students.

Beginning summer 2016, orientation has two components:   an online orientation which students are asked to complete before arriving for the on campus orientation. The on-campus orientation is designed to meet with advisors, learn about the intended major, register for classes and a chance to meet other incoming TCC Eagles.
