New Student Orientation (NSO)

This year, TCCD added an online New Student Orientation option for students enrolled in TCC Connect's Virtual College.  Plans are underway to determine if other students might benefit from an online orientation as well.

NSO focuses on the social, academic and personal transition issues all FTIC students face. NSO provides students with the opportunity to connect with faculty and staff and to learn about services and resources available at TCC that can help them succeed in their educational journey.  Registered FTIC students are required to participate in a four-hour NSO before beginning their first semester class(es).  FTIC students must register for NSO to complete their online class registration.  NSO promotes student engagement, hands-on experience with technology systems and familiarity with key College services and resources.

Update:  This intervention has been fully implemented.   We continue to refine the process each.
