Cooperative Learning

PCCUAfaculty use Cooperative Learning to improve instruction and student learning.  Cooperative learning strategies encourage active learning, improve social skills and foster increased communication between faculty and students, and among students in the class.  Research indicates these strategies demonstrate improved retention and achievement by students.  It focuses on students working together and increases the capacity of the individual within the group to problem solve and analyze situations.  The cooperative learning and engagement varies depending on how faculty use it. This instructional approach is used by a significant number of faculty.
