Jumpstart Math

Jumpstart Math is an intensive, noncredit, individualized math program designed to accelerate student progress through basic math and/or introductory algebra. It is offered during the summer to allow students to complete their developmental work prior to beginning the fall semester and offered during the first half of each semester to enable students who succeed in improving their placement to move into the next level of math during the second accelerated term.

  • Students must score in the upper level of developmental placement in either arithmentic or algebra.
  • The program uses customized Pearson Lab software.
  • When they have finished the required modules and assessments, students retake the placement test.

An arithmetic review module has been developed for students scoring at the lowest level in basic math and is offered summer, spring, and fall.
