DREAM 2019 Plenary Speakers Embrace Change to Serve Students

Achieving the Dream’s annual national convening this year features a slate of higher education leaders who are inspiring community colleges nationwide to make bold changes in how students experience higher education. Our plenary speakers have challenged themselves, their colleagues, and their institutions to rethink what college can be and what it needs to do so all students find success. They are tackling student poverty, intergenerational trauma, hunger, homelessness. They are restructuring advising, developing pathways, strengthening teaching, and preparing students for careers in fields desperate for new talent. One even ended his college’s football program to put the institution on firmer financial footing.
