Jon Iuzzini, director for teaching and learning, is attending the Community College Undergraduate Research Initiative meeting. 

 

Network Visits

Leon Hill, strategic data and technology coach, will be visiting colleges in Washington.

Dr. Richard Sebastian , director of OER degree initiative, and Dr. Ruanda Garth-McCullough, associate director of teaching and learning, will be in Ohio for an Every Learner, Everywhere site visit.

ATD Teaching & Learning Summit: May 30 – June 1, 2019

Building a Culture of Teaching Excellence for Student Success

ATD’s new Teaching & Learning Summit will strengthen the role of Centers for Teaching and Learning and empower faculty as leaders in addressing issues of student access, achievement, persistence, completion, and equity in teaching and learning. Teams composed of faculty members, academic affairs administrators, faculty developers and Center for Teaching & Learning directors will engage with experts in teaching and learning, coaches, and practitioners from ATD colleges as they devise action plans to bolster their institution’s teaching and learning capacity and expand the use of evidence-based classroom techniques. The Summit program will feature multiple tracks, including one on implementation of Open Educational Resources (OER) that will showcase the role of OER in fostering open pedagogy and how best to integrate the use of OER in broader institutional student success strategies. 2019 ATD Holistic Student Supports Institute: October 1-4, 2019

Join expert practitioners and ATD staff for an intensive working institute designed for two-year and four-year institutional teams of four or more, including administrators, frontline staff, faculty, and IR/IT staff. Teams examine student movement through their institutions and prepare to design a student support model that addresses the needs of the whole student, based on ATD’s Holistic Student Supports Framework.
