2021 DREAM Convening Goes Virtual

For 16 years, Achieving the Dream has been bringing together community college leaders, content experts, policy makers, and thousands of practitioners in an annual convening designed for interactive learning and networking.

For 2021, ATD has developed a new, immersive virtual experience that includes flexible schedules, single-focus topics, and plenaries led by national experts who focus on current issues and challenges. We shortened the event—February 16-19— to allow for more targeted programming, and to pull out our “pre-conference” workshops and institutes for delivery at a later date. For example, the ATD Equity Institute, which has been a part of the DREAM convening since its inception, will be held March 25-26, 2021. We hope that creating a separate event will enable more individuals and teams to participate.

Going virtual will enable colleges inside and outside of the national network to bring larger teams of faculty, staff, and other campus leaders to engage with peers from across the country and world at a critical moment for our sector. A new pricing structure offering group discounts and tiered registration fees will help stretch institutional budgets.

Call for proposals extended to October 15

We have also extended the Call for Proposals deadline to provide individuals an opportunity to respond if travel restrictions held them back from submitting a proposal earlier. The new deadline is October 15.

DREAM Scholars applications available October 7

ATD remains committed to including students in DREAM and will be issuing a call for nominations for 2021 DREAM Scholars, a unique learning experience for students that culminates in attending DREAM. Look for the nomination announcement October 7.

ATD remains committed to delivering content that is relevant, valuable, and actionable to our Network and to the field.
