Data and Technology Assessment

Building a culture of evidence requires more than simply accessing data or technology.  It requires taking a hard look at how people, processes, and systems are working together to make data-informed decisions.

A Data and Technology Assessment helps you better utilize your existing data to advance student success. It’s available to colleges in the ATD Network that have completed their three-year capacity-building experience.

Our Data and Technology Assessment is conducted by senior data and technology officers and includes:

  • Onsite consultation and interviews to determine the current state of your data infrastructure, including people, processes, and technology.
  • A deeper analysis of your Institutional Capacity Assessment Tool (ICAT) results.
  • A thorough document review.
  • Interviews with your executive cabinet, IT, and IR staff, end users, and students.
  • An assessment of your data structure and your skills, engagement, and staffing in IR and IT
  • An assessment of your planning, governance and support, systems infrastructure, analytic technologies, and data models.

At the conclusion of the assessment, you will receive a written report with detailed recommendations and targeted resources to address capacity gaps.
