Khalisa Jacobs

As chief of staff, Khalisa Jacobs holds strategic and operational responsibility for supporting Achieving the Dream’s ability to raise funds to support the sustainability of the organization. This effort is primarily focused on corporate sponsorships, individual donor campaigns, and foundation and government grants.

Khalisa has more than 20 years of experience as a fundraising professional. She has worked with international and youth development organizations, most recently as the senior director of development for Break the Cycle, a youth intervention and prevention domestic violence non-profit. Prior to this time she worked in a variety of capacities in development teams at four-year universities. At the University of Florida, she focused on events and the annual fund. In her time at Georgetown University she learned to execute the logistics of large galas, manage regional campaigns, and mentor regional clubs. Reunions, regional campaigns, and school-based campaigns were her focus at the University of Virginia. Her work has come full circle by returning to fundraising for the education sector.

She holds a BA in psychology from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Florida.
