Dr. Barbara J. Lombardo

Dr. Barbara J. Lombardo is Principal at Bergamot Consulting, an independent consulting practice dedicated to helping organizations define their strategy and develop their talent.

Barbara has focused her career on the business of education, learning, and talent. For 26 years, she worked in management consulting and held a range of leadership positions at global consulting firms including KPMG, PwC, IBM Global Business Services, and Huron Consulting Group. Throughout her career, she has helped companies, colleges and universities, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations define their strategies, improve their processes, and develop their people.

Barbara received her MBA and Ph.D. degrees from the Haas School of Business, the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on business and public policy, and wrote her dissertation on corporate philanthropy. She has been an adjunct professor of not-for-profit management at Lewis & Clark College and Portland State University in Portland (OR) and has served on the Board of Trustees of Lafayette College, her undergraduate alma mater. Prior to her appointment to the board of directors of Achieving the Dream, Dr. Lombardo served on the board of Gateway to College National Network, which merged operations with ATD.
