Amber Barnett

Amber Barnett is the Associate Director of Holistic Student Supports for Achieving the Dream, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for relationship and project management in support of the development and delivery of promising equity minded practices in advising and student supports. Amber is responsible for working directly with partner organizations and networks in support of the delivery of technical assistance and services that integrate academic and personal supports.

Prior to joining ATD, Amber was the Assistant Director of the Office of Student Engagement at Goucher College, where she developed and managed comprehensive programming in support of student resilience, reflection, and relationship-building. Her work with students, faculty, and college teams, has also included advocacy, advising, and leadership of collaborative efforts to promote inclusivity, problem solving, and professional development. A staunch supporter of equity, wellness and mental health, Amber’s career has centered on student engagement and development to ensure that students not only have an opportunity to attend college, but an opportunity to thrive in college. Amber’s background in higher education has also included experience in administrative and program support positions at Baltimore City Community College, Bard High School Early College, and the University of Maryland Baltimore County. 

Amber holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Morgan State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
