Dayna Gilliard

Dayna Gilliard  is Associate Director of Development  at Achieving the Dream, Inc. In this role Dayna will be be responsible for corporate sponsorship and supporting various development initiatives.

Dayna is an experienced sales and marketing professional and has worked with national media agencies and brands across print, digital, events, and broadcast radio. Dayna has a successful track record developing integrated marketing programs and campaigns targeting niche consumer and business to business audiences. Dayna’s extensive career includes leadership and individual contributor roles with Time Inc. at the ESSENCE Magazine brand and Atlantic Media for The National Journal and The Atlantic brands. During her time with Atlantic Media, Dayna served as the Partnerships Director for the newly created Foundation Relations division.  In this role, she was responsible for securing fundraising via grants to underwrite special events, including Race in America, Inclusion in Silicon Valley, as well as The Next America Project, a special journalism initiative aimed to educate and create awareness around inequality in America and the lack of opportunity for diverse populations across higher education, the workforce, criminal justice and early childhood development. Most recently, Dayna served as Associate Director of Corporate Engagement with Year Up where she successfully generated new business partnerships and revenues with Fortune 500 companies.

Dayna is a proud graduate of Howard University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing with a Digital Marketing concentration from New York University. Dayna resides in Montgomery County Maryland with her daughter.
