Dr. Kelly D. Smith

Dr. Kelly D. Smith is a senior research analyst in planning & research at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, where her work focuses on equity and student success. As part of her work at Central Piedmont, Kelly collaborates with the Parr Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence to develop data literacy training for faculty and staff.

Kelly also serves as a research and policy associate at the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy in Boston, MA, where she brings her research and writing expertise to the Equity Audit Initiative. Her work with the Equity Audit Initiative includes identifying foundational scholarship to inform metric and audit processes for small and mid-sized government bodies.

Kelly earned her Ed.D. in adult and community college education from North Carolina State University and has a graduate certificate in gender, leadership and public policy from University of Massachusetts, Boston. She is an SAS® Certified Base Programmer.
